CHALLENGE:
Simplify and enhance DMD’s web presence and ecommerce ordering process. Client was suffering from extremely high shopping cart abandonment rates with their previous website. The site also lacked organization which made it difficult to navigate and too many clicks to find a particular product. The site also lacked visual appeal and did not have a consistent layout adding to the confusion.
SOLUTION:
Evaluate 2 years of web analytics data to pinpoint the specific issues with usability and identify the points of shopping cart abandonment. Review product categories and design a clear navigation structure. Analysis resulted in a site overhaul, specifically tailored to a clear checkout process, and ability to efficiently add, delete and modify products as DMD’s product line evolves.
RESULT:
A 82% increase in monthly online orders. In the first quarter following launch, online orders nearly matched online order totals for the previous year!
